Individualized Error

Individualized Error

Grammar and writing mechanics have always been my favorite part of English classes and writing in general. I always try to keep my papers as polished as possible, but sometimes I do mess up. In my final draft of my Discourse paper, I added a compound sentence to balance out the number of complex sentences I had. “Delpit and Jordan greatly challenged his idea that primary Discourses can’t be taught in schools, but Delpit specifically took this idea too far.” This is an example of a compound sentence. My biggest sentence-level error was definitely putting periods before my parenthetical citations, but I improved throughout the term.  This is an example of a correctly placed period in my Discourse essay: Gee defines mushfaking as doing “something less when the real thing is not available” (13).
